About:
The Pock 7's is Yorkshire's oldest and
biggest seven-a-side competition,
with a good mix of local, national and
international teams, a good day's
rugby is assured. The tournament itself
is now nearly 50 years old and is held at a traditional club that is celebrating its
125-year anniversary this year.
Over the years the event has developed
the perfect blend of competitive
rugby, good social craic and the meeting
up of old friends in the best rugby
traditions. Indeed, many Pocklingtonians
use the tournament to hold reunions
for old friends.
The London based team, the Prowling Pretenders,
now hold the title that has
been held by the Fijian side The Impalas
for the past three years, after
winning the 2004 competition. Knottingley
have now won the Plate competition
for the second year running.
